The size of the urethra
LoFric is the name of our standard catheter.
It is used by men, women and children. For this reason, it is available in a wide range of sizes and models.
Anybody who needs to empty their bladder using CIC will find a model that suits them. Most teenaged boys tend to use a catheter that is 30-40 cm long, while girls choose one that is 15-20 centimeters long.
LoFric is also available in different sizes, depending on how narrow your urethra is. Young adults choose a thinner catheter, while those who are a little older choose catheters that are somewhat larger. Children usually prefer size CH 8-10, while adults prefer CH 12-14. The size is printed on the package.
